Acting Officers Briefing.  Wyrebank, Garstang.  4th Sept 2019

Here we are ready for another great year of Team Visits which will travel all over the West Lancashire Area to many different Mark Lodges, to make those evenings so special for the Lodges concerned and a night to remember.
The Secretariat
The members of the Executive Committee were in attendance and were very pleased to see such a good attendance from those who had been honoured with Acting Ranks at the Provincial Grand Lodge in May.
PGM Opens the Meeting
Prov DC
The PGM RW Bro. Keith Alan Beardmore opened the proceedings; he thanked all for attending and introduced all the members of the Secretariat to everyone and what their individual roles were within our wonderful Mark Degree.
Officers Attending
First up was he who must be obeyed (only kidding) the Provincial Grand D.C.  W.Bro. David (don’t leave your wand in the Lodge) Emmerson who is the best in the country, if he doesn’t know the answer to a Ritual question then there can’t be one. May I suggest just watch, listen and you will certainly learn a lot.
Prov Secretary John B
Next it was the turn of the Provincial Grand Secretary W.Bro. John Bicknell, like wise with John if you have a question regarding procedure he will know the answer and give you any help you may need in that area. He made mention of the W.Bro. Philip Lyon the newly appointed Provincial Inner Guard who in another role has just taken over selling Mark and RAM goodies at Team Visits, he did make great efforts to push the Provincial Tie just before he realised that he couldn’t find his for the meeting, which of course brought out lots of laughter. (This is the Mark Degree, the Happy Degree)
Asst PGM Ian
It was then over to W. Bro.John Waring Asst Provincial Secretary who gave some more information for the new officers including the handing back of the special Jewels at the end of the season, I could hear new holders of office thinking out loud, hang on a minute we’ve only just got them, but that’s the way it is, make the most your year, enjoy every moment of your time, and the more you put in to it the more you will get back, one promotion to Acting Officer doesn’t mean that’s it, your efforts are always noticed and you never know what the future holds.
Asst Prov Sec. John W
John W is the man with the Big Welcoming smile who always has a clip board with him making lots of notes for the PGM, like who is in attendance, hobbies etc, (sadly I never seem to make the list)
Asst PGM Giles
We were then treated to two short speeches of welcome from the two Asst Provincial Grand Masters, W. Bro. Ian Douglas Nairn and W. Bro. Giles Frederick Berkley, who are both great characters and I’m sure you will find it’s always a pleasure to be in their company.
W Bro. Ian Beckett
Following on from questions from the floor the PGM thanked everyone for attending and looked forward to seeing them at this season’s Team Visits, he wished them all a safe journey home and that was it, I felt it was a great success and can’t wait for the first Team Visit which I believe is at UNI of Liverpool Mark Lodge, Hope St, Liverpool, but don’t take my word for it check your Acting Officers Diary.
Sales Table
Mark Well and look forward to seeing you somewhere soon.

Must make mention of the first arrival for the meeting that was W. Bro. Ian Becket who I believe is one of this year’s  Prov J.D.’s  well done Ian.
